Destination: Ulan Bataar Aug 15
Many months ago when Will and I sat at our kitchen table plotting various routes and distances, we set Aug 15 as the day we would arrive in UB. And now that day has come, 33 days from our UK departure at Bodiam Castle: a lifetime and about 10,000 miles ago.
It has rained most of the way from our last campsite, but we did enjoy a hearty Mongolian hot breakfast at a roadside restaurant and also shaved a few years off our lives with Caroline’s bus driving. Chris was ace at driving, and really enjoyed her time behind the wheel.
We got to the city limits at noon, celebrating with big cheers while wearing our chicken hats on camera at Stefano’s request. Although it is sill drizzling, we are very excited for the finish.
And done! We made it in as team 50 at the finish, fitting for Don’s 50th year. An amazing time.
