05 Jun Canyonlands National Park: Rock Stars
Wow what a ride into Canyonlands National Park. Roughly twenty five miles of amazing rocks. Mostly red with some varying shades of white and black. Once in the park we all jumped off the bus at a spot labeled The Island In The Sky. Luckily we met Ranger Robby who was preparing a presentation on all of the different types of rocks that make up the park. He informed us that there are big and little rocks. Red and white and black ones as well. He taught about wind and water driven erosion with interactive props to further our insight into the making of little rocks out of big ones. I am now far more educated about all of Utah’s different rocks. After the presentation Ranger Robby went to the bus and signed his name. Our first rock star signing ever.
